Native Codex Desktop components (renderer-extension, desktop-control, shared-contracts)
were originally derived from an upstream MIT-licensed project by BytePioneer-AI (v0.6.1),
Copyright (c) 2026 BytePioneer-AI, and were fully re-implemented in this repository
(2026-09) against behavior specifications with all test suites and live-Desktop
acceptance passing. Wire-protocol strings, DOM selectors and UI copy that interoperate
with external surfaces are necessarily identical; all implementation structure,
helper decomposition and comments are original to this repository. The upstream license
text remains preserved in licenses/bytepioneer-MIT.txt pending an independent legal
review of the re-implementation.
All execution runtimes, protocols, adapters and local launchers are developed and maintained in this repository.

Native DeepSeek integration uses @deepseek-ai/dsh 0.1.2-rc.1 (MIT).

Bundled optional skin artwork is redistributed from HeiGeAi/heige-codex-skin-studio.
