SessionDeck — Source-Available License Copyright (c) 2026 Eugene Lensky This is source-available software, not open source. You may read the source and modify it for your own use. It is not free for unlimited commercial use, and the terms below are what make it sustainable to maintain. They are written to be read. 1. What you may do. You may run the software on any of your own machines, read the source, and modify it for your own private use. You may share unmodified copies — the marketplace listing, a vsix, or the source — as long as this license and the copyright notice stay attached. Distribution of modified copies is covered in section 6. 2. Free evaluation. Everything works, with no limits, for 3 days from the first time you run it. Try the whole thing before you decide. 3. Free tier. After the evaluation, light use stays free forever: up to 3 sessions (top-level sessions — subagents and workflow children never count, and remote hosts don't count toward the limit). Your 3 covered sessions — active ones taking the slots first — always render in full; sessions beyond the cap collapse to a locked placeholder row until you hold a license. Nothing on your disk is touched or altered — the cap only limits what this tool displays. For this section, a "session" is one top-level agent conversation SessionDeck shows on the machine it runs on; subagents, workflow children and sessions on remote hosts are never counted. A session is "active" while it is working or waiting for you. Active sessions fill the 3 covered slots first, then the most recently active of the rest. Any session beyond the 3 covered ones is shown as a locked row. 4. Paid use. To lift the free-tier limits, buy a license: monthly or lifetime, per person (not per machine). One person's key covers that person on all of their own machines. Site or volume licensing is available on request. Current prices are on the purchase page. A lifetime license comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee: ask within 7 days of purchase and you get a full refund. To ask, email support@sessiondeck.dev or use sessiondeck.dev/#refund. 5. Honesty over enforcement. The license check is deliberately light — a local modulo check on an offline key, nothing more. There is no phone-home, no telemetry, and no network call anywhere in license validation. We trust you to pay for what you use. In return, we keep it offline and private. 6. What you may not do. You may not resell or sublicense this software. You may not distribute modified copies — including, especially, a copy that removes, disables, or circumvents the free-tier limits or the license check ("de-paywalled forks"); modifications are for your own private use, or for contributing back. And you may not share, resell, or publish license keys. Contributions are welcome and encouraged. By submitting a contribution (a pull request, patch, or similar) for inclusion in this project, you license it to the project owner under these same terms, and you confirm you have the right to do so. 7. The name. "SessionDeck" — the name, icon, and branding — identifies this product as published by its author. Don't use them on a modified copy or a derived product, or in a way that suggests your work is the original or is endorsed by it. "Claude", "Codex" and "Cursor" are trademarks of their respective owners; this software is an independent tool that observes those tools and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. 8. No warranty. The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the software or its use. Status is inferred from your own disk and can be briefly wrong — see the README's "Honest limitations". These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, USA — where the publisher is incorporated — without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived by contract, you keep them. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable where you are, the rest still stands. If any of this is unclear, or you need terms this doesn't cover, ask.
