ANeko Reborn is a modern version of the classic ANeko app.

It features a cute cat animation that follows your finger on the Android screen, inspired by apps like nekoDA, xneko, oneko, and more.

This version is built for modern Android devices with better performance and compatibility.

Build Instructions

Requirements

Android Studio
Java 11 or higher

Steps

Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/pass-with-high-score/ANeko.git 
cd ANeko

Open the project in Android Studio
Sync Gradle and run the app on a device or emulator

Creating Custom Skins

Go to ANeko Builder
Upload your assets
Then create your custom skin

ANeko Reborn also supports Codex pets:

Import a Codex pet ZIP containing pet.json and its referenced spritesheet.
Or import a standard Codex PNG/WebP spritesheet directly (8 columns, 9 rows for v1 or 11 rows for v2; 192×208 px per cell).
Codex v2 look-direction rows are mapped to ANeko's eight movement directions automatically.
